New York State Weekend at National Fire Academy – March 2025

Please see the attached information from the NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control and Bureau of EMS about the New York State Weekend at the National Fire Academy in March 2025!

Upcoming training includes the Functions of ICS for EMS as one of the course offerings, and the NYS OFPC is encouraging more EMS participation!

The course and lodging are free! Participants just need to purchase a meal ticket for the weekend and provide their own transportation.

Crash Responder Safety Week: November 18-22

The following is from EMS.gov, the Office of Emergency Medical Services at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration about the upcoming Crash Responder Week, from Nov 18-22. As responders, our agencies respond daily to motor vehicle collisions, medical calls, and other incidents along roadways and highways. This campaign encourages agencies to take part and build awareness amongst the public about safety for all responders (Police, Fire, EMS, Towing) along the roadways. Below are links to webinars, outreach materials, and a Traffic Incident Management self-assessment.

Niagara County Narcan Supply Requests for Agencies Participating in Leave Behind Program

From the Director of Niagara County Public Health and Emergency Preparedness,

Niagara County has acquired a modest stock of Narcan and can fill orders for first-response agencies in Niagara County who wish to participate in the Leave Behind Program or agencies that have been obtaining supplies through Erie County.

Niagara County is also beginning to provide community-based training on the recognition of opioid overdoses and the administration of Narcan. If you are aware of any agencies or partners that would be interested in this training please refer them to Niagara County Emergency Management.

Mercy Hospital of Buffalo Door Code

As of 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, October 25, 2024, Mercy Hospital of Buffalo will change its EMS entrance code to 5650.

This is a reminder to ALL WNY EMS providers that they should not share this code with anyone outside of EMS and should not utilize the EMS entrance to gain access to Mercy Hospital of Buffalo when they are not acting in the capacity of an EMS provider.

CHS Mobile Simulation Training
