At the September SEMAC and SEMSCO meetings, the Safety Committee recently presented a Guidance Document for Agencies and Providers to deal with Mental Health and the aftermath of critical incidents. The School of Health Sciences and Practice at the New York Medical College developed this document for the DOH and Bureau of EMS and Trauma. It contains 3 main parts, a guide for mental health in agencies, guidelines for creating peer-to-peer programs within your agency, and a Postvention Planning Template for agency support in case of a line of duty death.
