We welcome CDR Pieter Van Horn as one of our exceptional presenters for the 2019 Greater Buffalo EMS Conference.  Pieter is a physician’s assistant with years of EMS experience.  Currently, Pieter serves as the Eastern Regional Health Services Administrator for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in downtown Buffalo.  In this role Pieter oversees all the ICE Hospitals on the Eastern coast of the United States and one facility in Texas.

Pieter is truly a very dynamic person who will keep you entertained while you learn!  We welcome Pieter to the 2019 Greater Buffalo EMS Conference.

Ed Mager from the Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems will be sharing information regarding the updated NYS EMS agency inspection process during the Wyoming-Erie Regional EMS Council meeting on Wednesday, March 6th.  The meeting will be held at the South Wales VFC at 6pm.

EMS agencies are invited and encouraged to attend this REMSCO meeting to learn more about the updated process.  An opportunity to ask related questions will be provided.

On January 9, 2019, NYS adopted a change that reduced the minimum certification age for EMTs to age 17 (previously 18).
