Greetings Everyone,
At the direction of the Wyoming/Erie REMSCO, I am sending out this information related to the iGel program. We have had a lot of questions related to the program so we wanted to take a moment to share some of information with you. There are a few things that must occur to participate in the iGel program. First, this is only available to ALSFR’s or Ambulance companies, not BLSFRs. Second, you must be participating in ALL BLS adjuncts. This is all the items listed on the Medical Director Verification form – DOH 4362. With that said, for EPI you only need to be doing either EPI syringe or EPI pen, not both. You must have a device capable of performing end tidal capnography. If you do not have all the BLS adjuncts, then you must obtain approval from the WREMAC before you can begin the program. If you fit the criteria, and are interested, please fill out the application attached. In addition to that, the 2 templates attached must be placed on letterhead, signed, and submitted with your application as well. Once submitted, I will forward this to the next REMSCO meeting for approval.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please dont hesitate to reach out to the office and we can help.
