Draeger Ventilator Recall Oxylog 3000

By Uncategorized

Greetings,

Please see this important information passed on by the NYS Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems regarding Draeger Medicals ventilator recall.

Draeger Medical Recalls Oxylog 3000 Plus Emergency and Transport Ventilators for Risk of Unexpected Depleted Battery and Ventilator Stop

Draeger Medical is recalling the Oxylog 3000 Plus Emergency and Transport Ventilator after receiving reports that the device stopped ventilation because of a depleted battery, even after being re-connected to AC power. The ventilator may not automatically switch back to using AC power when it is plugged in and may continue using the battery until it is depleted, then stop providing ventilation. A battery alarm: “Charge int. battery” and “Int. battery discharged” does occur with this issue.

The FDA has identified this as a Class I recall, the most serious type of recall. Use of these devices may cause serious injuries, serious health consequences, or death.

At the moment the Choate St exit from the ER is blocked due to road construction. The only way in or out of the ambulance area is off Abbott. Please be careful when entering the ambulance bay at Buffalo Mercy. Security is supposed to be out there to make sure things go well, but ambulances need to be aware.

Important Announcement Regarding Buffalo Mercy

By Uncategorized

Please see the announcement below regarding Buffalo Mercy from Scott Then, EMS Liaison:

The current EMS soiled linen room is going to be made into a lost and found area. We will be moving the soiled linen hampers into the alcove where the fresh linen is stored and the fresh linen into the brown cabinets between the EMS double doors. In order for us to make these moves we need EMS to come and pick up the items in the cabinets listed as EMS linen and the one directly next to it NO LATER than July 14th. If you could please reach out to the EMS agencies. We also need to be able to clean and sanitize the shelfs and have shelfs placed in the other cabinet for the fresh linen to be stored. Thank you!
